This is something I created a while back (2005) as part of an introduction course to 3D Studio Max. The modeling, lighting and textures are all very basic but I still like the overall general feel of the scene. One to revisit in the future maybe. I am currently trying to get to grips with Blender 2.6. It's been slow progress so far but hopefully will post some renders in the not too distant future.

I've been kicking around a few ideas for a while now and finally started to look into creating a game using Unity3 based on these sketches, a third person platform adventure. Still early days, but will publish more sketches soon.

Early 80's Space Invader handheld console

As a young kid in the early 80's I received my first piece of home arcade-game-magic. An Entex Electronics handheld Space Invader console. And I loved everything about it, from the LED backlit graphics to the catchy beepy start and wave clearance tunes. The only down side was the constant scavenger hunt for the required 9 AA batteries.

This render is a homage to the beginning of a life long obsession with playing games. From ZX Spectrum, Amiga, PC, Xbox, PS1/2/3 and iOS. I skipped the SNES and Megadrive.
